Glowing Chuck Taylors (Make-a-tion 2013)
We already know Chuck Taylors are the sneakers’ “All Star”s. Now you can make them literally glow by adding an Electroluminescent (EL) Panel and an inverter. With this simple workshop from AdaFruit, you’ll walk out with a light in your step and a power source in your sole. You must bring your own Chuck Taylors or other item you would like to modify!
Cost: $20 (or pay what you can)
When: 7/27/13 – 3pm
Where: The workshop will take place at Makerspace Urbana located in the basement room #16 of the Independent Media Center in Urbana. The space can be a little tricky to find but if you enter through the back Bike Project door (near the radio tower) and take your first left, we’re at the end of the hall. If you have any trouble finding us, just call (816) 287-1717.
