We did more repairs last month than we got photos of, but we did capture some pictures of some of the things that came in.
All of the fixes are powered by our local community. People donate their time and effort, as mentors or helping spread the word. Other people donate parts and tools. And some people drop some cash in the donation box. That’s one of the things that makes this project so inspiring. It’s a real community, and it has to be. No one person could accomplish this alone.
If you like what we’re doing and want to support it, you can tell your friends about the Repair Cafe, distribute fliers online or in person, check the event page for tool and material donations we’re looking for. This helps us connect with people who need some stuff fixed with the people who will help them do it. Because if we don’t get anyone bringing in broken items, then what are we even doing here.
And with the prices of gasoline, groceries, housing, taxes, and… well basically everything… a lot of people could benefit from a cheap fix instead of having to buy a replacement. This is true whether it’s a laptop, lamp, coffee table, or anything else. Help them save a few bucks. Send them our way.
