Makerspace Urbana, a working group of the Urbana-Champaign Independent Media Center, is dedicated to enabling the blend of arts, humanities, science and technology. Our mission is to provide an open community lab where people of diverse backgrounds can learn, teach, tinker, collaborate, share, innovate, socialize, and create.

We’re located at 202 S. Broadway Ave in Urbana at the Urbana-Champaign Independent Media Center (IMC).  Our space is in the basement, at the end of the hall beside the costume closet and at the opposite end of the hall from the bike project.  Here’s a little video to help enter via the outside stairs on the south side of the building:

As of March 2024, there is also a ramp on the north side of the building. That door has locking issues.

If the outside door is locked, we will have a phone number posted on the door, so please bring your cell phone. Sorry for the inconvenience. The IMC is working to improve the situation.
