Makerspace Urbana is located in the basement of the Independent Media Center. You can get to it from the ramp on the north side of the building, from the stairs down on the south side of the building, or by entering the IMC from the stairs on the west side, walking past the birds, and turning right twice to find the stairs down.

Adam will describe the Meshtastic network, various hardware that can be used, and how people are using it here in the Urbana area.

From a network of air quality sensors, to communications at protests, to rain stations, to emergency communications when the cell networks are down, to just chatting with friends; Meshtastic has a lot to offer. The class will look at how the 3D printed files are designed and printed, and participants will then assemble their own Meshtastic communication devices which they will take home.
