Open Hours
Open hours are regularly scheduled times when the Makerspace is open to anyone! Our friendly volunteer staff are on hand to answer questions and show new visitors around.
When: Thursdays, 6pm – 9pm; Saturdays, 11am – 2pm
Repair Café
The Repair Cafe is where you can bring your broken things and we will assist you however we can to get that thing working again… for free! We believe that the best way to understand something and how it works is to take a look inside it, usually by working with someone to repair it. Repairing things is also sustainable and cost effective – older things are often better made, and keeping something from a landfill by bringing it back to life is always a better answer.
The Repair Café happens on the Third Thursday of the month during regular open hours.
All repair assistance is free, but donations of tools, materials, or cash are welcome!
When: Third Thursday of each month, 7pm – 9pm
Fiber Night
Do you like to knit, crochet, weave, spin, embroider, or sew? Do you do none of these things but are very interested in learning more? Then Fiber Night is for you!
Fiber Night is on the first Tuesday of the Month in our regular space in the Makerspace.
When: First Tuesday of each month, 6 – 9pm
Makerspace Creates
Makerspace Creates is a fantastic program that we are hosting thanks to generous funding from the Urbana Arts Council.
Throughout the next 12 months, we will be hosting a series of classes on topics ranging from stained glass making to creating art from family memories, to 3D printing and how to build your own electronic Meshtastic radio.
While the classes will be added to the Makerspace Calendar, they will also be featured here as they are scheduled.
