Makerspace Urbana Working Principles

Makerspace Urbana is not a place but a community that actively empowers all people including those with marginalized identities.  We expect everyone participating in Makerspace activities to adhere to our anti-harassment policy and respect our working principles.

We expect you to:

• Have empathy for others’ experiences/perspectives
• Be open to feedback
• Be open to change
• Practice bystander intervention
• Engage in non-offensive inquiry
• Don’t play devil’s advocate
• Accept people’s lived experiences
• Respect people’s pronouns/gender identity
• Respect people’s personal boundaries
